4 Oct 2009I just wanted to share some pictures from my first olympic weightlifting meet. There is also a video here of my lifts. I am going to put together a video of some of the other lifters at the meet just to give you a sense of the different styles out there.

YES!!! This is exactly how I imagined a USAW meet would look in Texas. Are overalls a USAW-approved singlet? Because if they are, you are a fool for not lifting in overalls. You would be the crowd favorite every time.

Way to go on your 1st Meet! All future Meets should take place in large sheds. Was there a celebratory round of beer pong played after the Meet?

Dutch, stellar performance. Humble beginnings but isn’t it always that way. I’ve seen you lift and you are anything but average! Your movement is athletic and makes me jealous. Hope the abs continue to heal.

Dutch,
Congrats on Qualifying for Americans at your first meet! That is awesone work. Do you plan on competing again before Americans to get another comp under your belt? If you need any help counting warm ups even if it’s just changing weights on the bar for you email me and let me know as I will be there with a 63K womens lifter.
