Yea i would survive in the woods… Right Darin??

So we are all on the journey (i say journey because the destination should be unreachable) for knowledge. Regardless what you are searching for, you should always be trying to find better information. I have some really cool posts coming up but they are going to take some time. I want to give you a couple websites to keep you busy in the mean time.

Memoirs of a Strong Girl
This is the personal website of the new co-owner of Crossfit ATM. Her name is Jordan and when she wandered into my gym about 2 years ago she was weak, skinny, and a runner. She has shifted her perspective and is now committed to Crossfit and strength training. I love it!! It took many long hours of my whipping her with a barbell in the back yard but it finally worked and she is making me proud as the person to perpetuate Crossfit ATM. If you are local, you should go see her. She is an awesome coach and amazing person. She can cook pretty well too. ;-)
I guess i should mention her husband as well. He is the one that dragged her into the gym and is on his own journey as the other Co-owner of Crossfit ATM. Check out his blog here and the newest addition to the Brazos Valley is the BV Barbell Club

Crossfit Balboa
John is not the most politically correct guy on the planet but what he says makes sense, well, most of the time. If you are looking for a little sound nutrition advice along with an occasional laugh, check out Johns blog.

Daily OM
This is one of my favorites. It is a little touchy feely sensitive but i like that kind of stuff. It sends out a daily bit of wisdom for you to ponder.

Robb Wolf
Always an entertainer, the WOlfman gives great nutritional info and is not afraid to tell you when you are wrong and prove it as well.

Nicki Violetti
The beautiful goddess that has to put up with the Wolfman everyday. She has put together an amazing business blog posting what has worked for them at Crossfit Norcal and what hasn’t. Read and pay attention, she knows her shit.

The Biz
Jon Birch has a blog linked through Crossfit LA that posts some interesting thoughts on business. He has a differnt background than most of us and actually understands the business of Crossfit and wants to help everyone else be successful as well.

I didn’t link any training websites because that is what i am working on. I am going to sift through the ones i regularly visit and let you know the premise behind them from the horses mouth.
If you have any that you regularly visit, let me know and i will try to get them into the mix as well.

Enjoy!

I like where your next few posts are headed. Like a lot of crossfitters, I cruise the Internet looking at different sites for information, ideas, and inspiration. There’s a lot out there. I’m very interested to read your posts on the sites you mentioned–they are all ones that I look at quite often, CFFB, the main site, MEBB, CF Invictus, Catalyst…. Another one I look at quite often that you didn’t mention is OPTs site at http://www.optimumperformancetraining.blogspot.com

Dutch, as far as gaining knowledge goes, I had a quick question. The warmup you posted the other day, is that something you do for your olympic lifting, or was that the standard warmup you would do prior to doing CrossFit style met-con workouts? I’m only asking because I was thinking that there is a benefit to doing something like a 400m run, double unders or row prior to a workout. Well if anyone can answer this that would be great. Thanks
