This has to be my favorite holiday!  Lets face it, the Mexicans know how to party.

But Dutch, you aren’t Mexican why do you celebrate Cinco de Mayo?  Well, usually i don’t even need a reason to celebrate but if there is a legit excuse for celebration you can count me in!  This holiday ranks up there with St Patty’s day and 4th of July.  Its better than a birthday or a wedding cause you don’t have to buy a gift and don’t have to hang out with people you don’t want to.  Go out and celebrate, drink a little tequila and have a good time today!

A little background on Cinco De Mayo:

Many people mistakenly think this is Mexican Independence day.  It is not.  Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is actually the day the Mexican army defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.  They defeat was unlikely because number one the french had not lost a battle in 50 years and number two, the Mexicans were heavily outnumbered.
